About me.
Dee Williams (she/her) is a queer, Jamaican-American creative specializing in photography, social media strategy and content creation with a deep focus on storytelling from across the African diaspora. With 8+ years of experience driving content for major publications like Ebony Magazine, iOne Digital, Thrillist, and superstar Janelle Monáe. Dee blends editorial instinct with cultural insight to develop high-impact, visually driven campaigns that resonate across platforms.
Her work sits at the intersection of social media, identity, and community, where fashion becomes a vehicle for nuanced storytelling and social content shifts narratives. Whether directing campaigns, managing brand voice, or creating original content, Dee brings a sharp editorial eye and a deep commitment to authentically representing Black and queer communities.
After nearly a decade in New York City and several years in Los Angeles, Dee is now based in Chicago, where she plans to continue shaping inclusive content strategies and pushing culture forward across social, commercial, and editorial spaces.
My Vibe…
I create intentional content rooted in culture, storytelling, and perspective. My work lives at the intersection of photography, video, and social media, where strong visuals meet real connection.
Every project starts with listening and understanding the story behind the work. From there, I focus on creating content that feels honest, human, and aligned with the people it’s meant to reach.
I’m less interested in chasing trends and more focused on building work that lasts.
